Young Social Entrepreneurs' Forum @ GK3 Spearheading the Future
The Young Social Entrepreneurs' Forum @ GK3 is a feature of the 3rd Global Knowledge Conference (GK3), a GKP Event on the Future on "Emerging People, Emerging Markets, Emerging Technologies", that will bring 2000 participants to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 11 to 13 December 2007. Forum Participants The Forum targets 250 participants: - A community of 100 young social entrepreneurs selected through a Global Competition - Funding organisations such as development aid agencies, commercial banks, CSR investors and venture capitalists, experts, other stakeholders and GK3 participants.
Forum Outcomes The Forum focuses on the support needed by innovative young social entrepreneurs in order to harness the full potential of their ICT-enabled social enterprises. In a networking- oriented and interactive space, all of them will meet with investors, mentors and other interested stakeholders in order to network, to share knowledge and experiences, to debate and to explore partnerships. Funding and mentorship will be made available to these who make successful pitches at the Forum.
Forum Features 1. A youth-2-youth approach in developing the visual identity, content and communications of the Forum 2. Two sessions where 10 young social entrepreneurs will "pitch" their enterprises to experts to secure funding 3. Two interactive and innovative thematic sessions, shaped by youth-2-youth content input 4. A dedicated networking session on 10 December 2007 to share knowledge and experiences among young social entrepreneurs.

Young Social Entrepreneurs' Profile Young people up to 30 years who have set up innovative enterprises that aim to make a positive social impact and that use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Knowledge as part of their business model. Social impact can be achieved, for example, through creating employment opportunities and/or other benefits for disadvantaged communities.
